Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash on the N22 near Dromadeesirt outside Killarney.
The incident involving two cars took place yesterday evening at around 6.40.
One of the drivers, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to the local mortuary where a post-mortem will take place in due course.
The other driver, a man in his 30s, was brought to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions on the N22 are in place at both Scart Cross and Lawlors Cross.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N22 near Dromadeesirt between 6:20 and 6:50 yesterday evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
