The Garda Commissioner has reacted to not being invited to the annual GRA conference in Kerry this week.
Drew Harris has released a statement, outlining what he would have said in his address to delegates were he invited to the two-day event in Killarney.
The Commissioner says Garda management has put in place a range of additional measures to support members, including the roll-out of body cams, mobile phones, and additional equipment for the Emergency Response Unit and Armed Support Units.
He also says the Garda fleet is now the largest it's ever been, and highlighted the changes to sentencing for people who assault gardaí.
The Garda Representative Association says it has no confidence in him as Commissioner, adding that the current 'operating policing model' is not working.
