Three locations in Kerry are to get funding as part of a nationwide investment of almost €15 million from Inland Fisheries Ireland.
The Cloghane N22 culvert, the upstream bridge in Kilmurry and the Glanteenassig bridge will benefit.
The aim of the National Barrier Mitigation Programme is to allow fish to move freely, and improve the ecosystem of rivers and streams.
Minister of State Timmy Dooley says the programme will also help fish stocks recover.
There'll be another opportunity to apply for funding under the scheme in the autumn.
