Funding has been allocated for two Kerry playgrounds under the Summer of Play initiative.
Both Sneem and Ballyheighue playgrounds will be upgraded through this funding.
Nationally, €6 million in Government grants has been made available to encourage children and their families to play outside as restrictions ease.

The funding is being rolled out through two grants; €5.5 million is for services to enhance their outdoor spaces and €450,000 for refurbishment and development of playgrounds.
The announcement has been welcomed by Minister for Education Norma Foley, who says it will provide a welcome boost to the Sneem and Ballyheigue communities.
