A friend of Ashling Murphy has spoken about the connection the murdered school teacher had to West Kerry.
Laura Murray is PRO of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund which was set up to raise money for causes close to Ashling's heart.
This includes Gaeltacht scholarship funds for second-level students to attend Coláiste Chamuis in Co Galway to improve their Irish language skills.
Ashling Murphy was 23-years old when she was murdered on the Grand Canal bank, near Tullamore almost four years ago.
She was passionate about the Irish language and was a gifted traditional musician.
