The founders of Tricel have been inducted into the Order of Inisfallen.
Con and Anne Stack were honoured for their engineering company.
The Order of Inisfallen civic honour is a joint initiative between Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce and Kerry County Council.
It recognises those who have made an exceptional contribution to the local economy.
Con and Anne Stack received the honour at a ceremony in Muckross House yesterday afternoon.
They began their business, which was formerly Killarney Plastics, over 50 years ago.
It has since become Tricel, a global engineering company that has over 600 employees, 200 of which are based in Killarney.
It is now run by their four sons, Michael, Con, Richard and Robert.
Mayor of Killarney, Cllr Martin Grady, said the journey of Tricel is inspiring from it’s modest beginnings to the international stage.
