Flu cases falling but rise in RSV and Covid means UHK is still under pressure 

Flu cases presenting at UHK are starting to taper off, but rising incidence of RSV - as well as Covid - mean it'll be several weeks before pressure is eased on staff and services.

That's according to Consultant in Emergency Medicine Dr Ronán Murphy, who says recent weeks have been challenging for staff at the Tralee hospital.

Figures released by the HSE, show the number of patients needing hospitalisation due to influenza cases, have started to fall.

Dr Murphy says it's still not too late for people to get vaccinated, and he urged those who can manage their symptoms at home, to do so.

He says despite the falling 'flu numbers, there are still come challenging weeks ahead for the hospital:
