Five Kerry projects have been shortlisted for a national award

Five Kerry projects have been shortlisted for a national award that showcases local initiatives, individuals, and contributions to the community.

Nominations for the All-Ireland Community and Council Awards were put forward by Kerry County Council.

This year 31 local authorities across Ireland are nominated over 533 projects in 24 categories, with Kerry County Council associated initiatives nominated in five.

Féile Thrá Lí-Tralee Street Festival has been nominated for Best Irish Festival, while Kerry Dark Sky Reserve has been nominated for Best Tourism Initiative.

Social Action Group, Rathmore has been nominated for Community Wellbeing Initiative, and Tralee Bay Wetlands is up for Best Inclusive Community Wellbeing Initiative.

As well as this, Dingle Sustainable Energy Community is in the running for Best Sustainable Infrastructure and Climate Action.

The national awards will take place in Dublin next month.
