Firefighters tackled a gorse fire for around two hours outside Killarney last night.
Fire Control was notified at around 10:20 last night of a fire in the Knockaliebade area of Kilcummin, outside Killarney.
Four units of the Kerry Fire Service responded in total, from the Killarney and Castleisland brigades.
They left the scene again more than two hours later, at 12:45am.
The brigade was able to confirm that it was a gorse fire.
Kerry Fire Service is reminding landowners that it’s illegal to burn land from 1st March to 31st August, and the burning of gorse and upland areas is a severe threat to wildlife and property.
