Fire service tasked to tackle Pap’s Mountains gorse fire

The fire service had to tackle a gorse fire in Rathmore last evening.

Units from Killarney and Millstreet were tasked to the blaze on the Paps Mountains in Shrone from 5.30 until 10.30pm.

The burning season resumed from September 1st, but under legislation, the burning of gorse or land must be notified in advance to the fire services.
