The highest proportion of housing applicants in the Castleisland MD are in the 30 to 40 age category.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting in response to a question from Independent councillor Jackie Healy-Rae.
The data, as of March 13th, showed 554 people were awaiting social housing on that date, over a quarter of whom were aged 30-40.
23% of applicants are in the 40-50 bracket, 18% are aged 50-60, while 22 applicants are over 70, and 44 are in the under 25 category.
The figures show that over 56% of applicants are awaiting 1-bed units in the Castleisland local electoral area.
