A Fianna Fáil TD says the party should talk to everyone after the next election, including Sinn Féin.
Minster of State at the Department of Higher and Further Education Niall Collins was speaking after an in-person Ipsos MRBI – Irish Times poll showed Sinn Féin has the highest approval rating of any party.
Following the last election, Fianna Fáil leader Michael Martin said the party wouldn’t speak to Sinn Féin in relation to government formation.

Minister Collins says polls during the pandemic were conducted online, which could have underrepresented the party’s support.
He says, while not second guessing what the party will do, he’d be open to speaking to everyone in a post-election period.
