The Fenit beach facility is set to open in the second quarter of 2026.
Construction of the new water activities centre began last April, following €1.2 million in funding from Fáilte Ireland’s Platforms for Growth programme.
The investment aims to extend Fenit’s tourism season to year-round.
Kerry County Council Chief Executive, Fearghal Reidy told councillors that the Part 8 process, which will give the public a chance to comment on the second phase of the project, is due to begin before the end of March 2026.
Construction on the second phase, which will improve accessibility, is expected to start after the bathing season ends in September.
