A government initiative will allow people to dispose of their farm hazardous waste in Listowel next week.
The initiative is part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s, National Hazardous Waste Management Plan (2021-2027) and will see six collection days across the country.
Farmers can dispose of items for a fee including veterinary medicine, waste oil, pesticides and biocides.
Mixed and unidentifiable waste will not be accepted and Herd number or equivalent is required.
The collection day is next Tuesday, 9th December, from 9am to 4pm at Listowel Mart.
The plan was announced by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon TD, and Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, Alan Dillon TD.
ENVA waste company has been procured to manage the collection, removal and disposal of the waste.
