Family of Jessie Buckley say Oscar nomination is a dream come true

The family of Killarney actor Jessie Buckley says it was a dream come true for her to be nominated for an Oscar.

Buckley has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actress category, for her performance in 'Hamnet’, as the wife of William Shakespeare.

Her co-star Paul Mescal missed out on a nod in the Best Supporting Actor category, but the film is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Costume Design, and Casting.

The Arbutus Hotel, which is run by Jessie Buckley’s family, showed the announcement live stream in the adjacent bar, Buckley's.
