Expressions of interest for the Fels Point sites in Tralee will be published in February.
Kerry County Council confirmed the news at the recent Tralee Municipal District meeting, following a motion by Fianna Fáil councillor Mikey Sheehy.
In March 2020, Kerry County Council published an invitation for expressions of interest to develop the sites, which are located beside the Rose Hotel.
The advertisement of expressions of interest coincided with the beginning of the pandemic, and the council said it would re-advertise it for this reason.
Cllr Sheehy says this is long time coming and represents a significant step forward for one of the most strategically located and underutilised sites in the town.
He says all options need to be looked at to best develop the sites at Fels Point:
