Expectant mother calls on UHK to clarify restrictions within their maternity unit

A woman, who is 37 weeks pregnant, is calling on University Hospital Kerry to clarify the restrictions in place within their maternity unit.

This expectant mother, who doesn’t want to be identified, says other maternity hospitals have eased their restrictions recently.

She understands safety must come first, but feels UHK could ease restrictions and allow partners to attend all scans and appointments.

She says expectant mothers need the support of their partner during such appointments and she has been trying to get clarity on UHK’s policy for weeks.

This woman says there should be an overall policy applied to all maternity hospitals units:

It’s expected this evening’s announcement on the easing of restrictions will include updated guidelines around restrictions for maternity units.
