An emergency closure of a street in Killarney is due to be lifted this afternoon.
Kerry County Council announced the emergency closure of Main Street in Killarney last Friday.
The decision came after a piece of a window sill from a building fell onto the footpath on March 26th.
The council says the appointed structural engineers have completed their assessments and contractors have started work.
Following final completion of the design and site set up, the council says it’s expected to be able to reopen the road and footpath by 2pm today.
It’s estimated that works to restore the building will take four to six weeks; the council says this work should have a minimum impact on traffic flow within the town centre.
