Embankment works are to be carried out in the immediate term following a once-in-a-150-year flooding event in North Kerry last November.
Over 100 people had to be evacuated from their homes when the River Feale burst its banks following torrential rain from Storm Bert, which came immediately after heavy snowfall across Kerry.
A report into the incident is due to be released this week.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Jimmy Moloney says there's a sense of frustration with the length of time it has taken the report to be published and for the works to begin.
He says this is the case when dealing with many State and semi-state bodies.
