Eight people died on Kerry roads last year, compared to seven who lost their lives in 2024, leaving the Kingdom with the sixth highest death rate per county.
Dublin had the highest number of road fatalities in 2025 with 22 deaths; Longford recorded no deaths on its roads last year.
That's according to provisional figures released by the Road Safety Authority which says there was a concerning increase in the numbers who died on our roads in 2025.
The statistics show 185 people lost their lives in 174 fatal collisions during 2025 on Irish roads, compared to 171 deaths in 157 collisions the previous year.
That represents an eight per cent rise, year on year.
Sam Waide, chief executive of the Road Safety Authority (RSA) says the number of cyclists killed last year was the highest since 2017, while the number of motorcyclist fatalities was the highest recorded since 2007.
