Gardaí in Kerry issued a €500 fine to a person who hosted a child’s birthday party, where people from five different households were in attendance.
Garda Niall O’Connor from Tralee Garda Station says there’s been an increase in people breaching the 5km limit to get to scenic areas in the county, including Banna and Ballybunion beaches.
He says there’s also been an increase in the number of house parties being held; the organiser of a house party is liable to a €500 fine, while attendees can be fined €100 each.

Garda O’Connor adds a fine had to be imposed in recent days, after someone held a child’s birthday party and invited people from five other households.
