There has been a drop in theft crime in Kerry during 2025.
That’s according to figures released to Radio Kerry by the Regional Chief Superintendent for the Southern Garda Region, Colm O’Sullivan.
It shows there has also been a fall in public order incidents when compared with 2024.
According to the figures, as of December 15th, there has been a 7% drop in theft from shop incidents in Kerry, at 642 in 2025.
Theft from person crimes decreased by 18% in the twelve months, with 14 offences recorded in the county.
74 incidents of theft from vehicles were reported, an 8% drop.
Burglary arrests in the county increased by 4% in the year, with 140 offences.
The figures show over 330 (333) criminal damage (not arson) incidents were recorded, a 6% drop.
Assault causing harm offences in Kerry increased by 14% in the year, at 174; 413 minor assault crimes were recorded, a 13% decrease.
Over 450 (454) public order incidents were recorded, a 9% drop, while drunkenness offences reduced by 1%, with 463 recorded.
