Kerry gardaí operating a speeding checkpoint detected a motorist driving at almost 160 kilometres per hour.
The Kerry Roads Policing Unit was manning the checkpoint just outside Castleisland when the driver was detected traveling at 159 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometre per hour zone.
The driver also failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for dangerous driving.

The motorist is due to appear in court.
