The DPP has directed further charges are to be brought against a North Kerry man accused of arson.
The update was provided at Tralee District Court in relation to the case of Corvin Rode Griffin of 7 Cloverfield Estate, John B Keane Road, Listowel.
It’s alleged that on June 11th at Cloverfield Estate, Listowel, Corvin Rode Griffin caused €100,000 worth of damage to a property.
The 47-year-old who faces one charge of arson in relation to the incident, appeared via-video link from Cork Prison before Judge Monika Leech.
Prior to appearing on screen, his solicitor Padraig O’Connell advised the judge that Mr Rode Griffin is prone to outbursts and has been disruptive in previous appearances.
Mr O’Connell noted that his client has been granted bail but has been unable to come up with a suitable address.
Speaking on the video link, the accused confirmed he could see and hear the court and told the court his name is Corvin Schnable.
Sergeant Chris Manton told Tralee District Court that the DPP directed trial on indictment in relation to the charge of arson.
Sgt Manton also advised the judge that the Director of Public Prosecutions has indicated a further charge is to be brought against the accused.
Judge Leech remanded Mr Rode Griffin in continuing custody with consent to bail, to appear in person before Tralee District Court tomorrow for the further charges.
