Dissatisfaction aired at lack of progress identifying Castleisland greenway route

An independent councillor has aired his dissatisfaction at the lack of progress to identify a possible route for a Castleisland greenway.

Cllr Charlie Farrelly sought an update at the recent meeting of the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne municipal district.

In response, the council advised the provision of linking the town to the greenway network is included in the Kerry Greenway Strategy.

Kerry County Council said this has yet to reach project status, while it’s uncertain when it will be funded, given funding and resource commitments.
