Representatives from the Dingle Peninsula community have received their Ireland’s Greenest Place award at an event in Dublin this week.

‘Ireland’s Greenest Places 2025’, was an initiative whereby members of the public were invited to nominate a special place or project which they felt contributed to a greener environment.

The project was created by by The Irish Times in association with Electric Ireland, and over 150 entries took part.

The entries were judged on criteria including environment impact, community engagement and changes in behaviour.

The Dingle Peninsula took the top prize, with judges praising the community for the care they take of their beautiful environment and their commitment to improving it for the next generation.
