Dearth of information about Short-Term Tourist Letting register

There is a dearth of information about the Short-Term Tourist Letting (STTL) Register.

So says Noelle Casey, vice-chair of the Irish Self-Catering Federation (ISCF) and owner of Knockcarrig House in Killarney.

The bill went to cabinet last week, but must still pass through the Oireachtas.

Once operational, Fáilte Ireland will manage the national registry, requiring all short-term tourist accommodation to be registered annually.

Airbnb-style properties may also need planning permission to change from residential to tourist use
