Danny McCoy to speak at next Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce members’ lunch

Business leader and economist of over 30 years, Danny McCoy, will be the special guest speaker at the next Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce members’ lunch.

Mr McCoy has served as the chief executive of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation since 2009, during which time it has doubled in scale to become the largest lobbying organisation in Ireland and third largest in Europe.

The event will take place at the Great Southern Hotel on Wednesday, 25th June at 12.30pm.

He worked as a senior economist at the Central Bank of Ireland and the ESRI (Economic and Social Research Institute).

Mr McCoy has also been a consultant to the European Commission and the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development).

He has lectured at University College London, the University of Oxford, (TCD) Trinity College Dublin and DCU (Dublin City University) and he has been.

He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy, a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy, an Honorary Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineers, Adjunct Professor at the Trinity College Dublin Business School and Vice President of the Statistical and Social Inquiry Society of Ireland.

Mr McCoy has attended business meetings at the White House in the USA and in Downing Street, delivered speeches at the United Nations General Assembly of the International Labour Organisation and he has been keynote speaker at over 40 international conferences.
