Cyber-attack impacts on UHK ability to deliver normal services

The ongoing cyber-attack on the HSE’s IT system has resulted in considerable delays in the University Hospital Kerry Emergency Department and on the hospital’s ability to deliver normal services.

Management at UHK are reminding the public that the Emergency Department is for emergency services only.

Hospital management apologises for the inconvenience but is reassuring the public that patients at UHK are receiving appropriate care.

Due to the impact of the cyber-attack on the HSE, all outpatient radiology and cardiology appointments at University Hospital Kerry have been cancelled; patients will be rescheduled in due course.

Urgent and time critical Endoscopy procedures are continuing.

UHK says the Bowel Screen programme is currently deferred and patients will be rescheduled in due course.

Outpatient clinics are going ahead in UHK this week at a reduced capacity.

All patients will be contacted in advance of their appointment.

Those with appointments for maternity clinics should attend unless contacted by the hospital.

Scheduled anatomy scans are deferred this week and will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

All elective surgeries will be rescheduled with the exception of emergency or elective c-sections.
