The ongoing cyber-attack on the HSE's IT system has resulted in considerable delays at University Hospital Kerry's Emergency Department and on the hospitals ability to deliver normal outpatient services.

Management at the UHK have advised that all Routine Outpatient Appointments, including Radiology and Cardiology, have been cancelled other than for patients who have received direct contact from the hospital.

In relation to the Maternity Department at UHK, all high risk pregnancies and all outreach clinics patients at Centrepoint, Listowel and Killarney are advised to attend as normal.

However, any emergencies or women with concerns should attend the maternity service as usual. Routine anatomy scans will be deferred and rescheduled in the near future.

The 24 hour contact number for maternity patients with any concerns is 066 7184324.

Management at UHK are reminding the public that the Emergency Department is for emergency services only.
