Councillors have urged for a safety investigation to be carried out at a junction on the N21 between Castleisland and Tralee.
Cllr Fionnán Fitzgerald raised the motion on this section of the route, which has experienced several collisons - at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.
The Fianna Fáil councillor highlighted concerns at the L-2014 turnoff on the road, at O’Riada’s bar in Ballymac.
He stated the TII’s efforts can go further to ensure safety on this stretch, and urged for larger signage and more notification of the junction from both directions.
Cllr Fitzgearld says this measure would be especially important to alert drivers who are not used to the road.
The motion was seconded by independent councillor, Charlie Farrelly.
