Councillors in two of Kerry’s municipal districts have adopted draft budgetary plans.
Members of the Tralee and Castleisland Corca-Dhuibhne MDs met this morning in Áras an Chontae to discuss their respective draft budgetary plans.
The remaining three Kerry MDs are meeting this afternoon to finalise their plans.
These MD meetings come ahead of the Kerry County Council budget which is due to be adopted later this month.
Councillors in the Tralee MD adopted their draft budgetary plan and the Municipal District is to receive a General Municipal Allocation (GMA) of €225,000; this is the total discretionary funding available to members of the Tralee MD.
€105,000 of the GMA has been allocated to Strategic Development Fund, this has been earmarked for projects including works at The Mall, Ballyseedy Wood, and the Ashe Memorial Hall.
The Tralee MD Community Support Fund has an allocation of €80,000, while the other €40,000 is for the Town Operations Commitments.
Meanwhile, councillors in the Castleisland Corca-Dhuibhne MD adopted their draft budgetary plan and the Municipal District is to receive a General Municipal Allocation (GMA) of €132,000.
€70,000 has been allocated to Strategic Development Fund, which will go towards numerous projects including the Castleisland Masterplan project, the Milltown-Kilderry looped walk and platforms for growth at Maharabeg.
The Community Support Fund for the Castleisland Corca-Dhuibhne MD has an allocation of €62,000.
