Elected councillors will write to the HSE requesting South Doc fulfill their full out of hours service obligations in Kerry.
It follows a motion from Sinn Féin councillor Robert Brosnan at the recent full meeting of Kerry County Council.
He believes large portions of people are unsatisfied, claiming housebound services have been thrown by the wayside since Covid.
Cllr Brosnan says many people are being referred to A&E when they call South Doc; adding this is a waste of emergency services, when the person could be treated at home.
The motion was seconded by Fianna Fáil councillor, Breandán Fitzgerald.
