A North Kerry councillor has urged for action to be taken to stop “foreign cars driving on the wrong side of the road”.
Fianna Fáil’s Michael Leane made the plea at the recent meeting of the Listowel Municipal District.
He said the R551 road between Causeway and Dairymaster needs to be road-marked following recent road chipping.
Cllr Leane stated there are a lot of HGVs and “foreign left hand drive cars” on this route recently, and claimed these vehicles are taking over the whole road.
He says the road needs to be marked to ensure all people stay on the correct side of the route.
In response the council said the location will be assessed for road markings.
