A Kerry county councillor is attributing a very bad smell in Kilcummin to a new €9 million sewerage scheme.
Works on the Kilcummin Sewerage Scheme began in 2022.
Councillor Marie Moloney says she's been receiving complaints about the putrid odor since well before the hot summer weather arrived.
She says that it's a lot more than "a bit of a whiff":
Labour's Cllr Moloney also claims that says that Kilcummin Sewerage Scheme isn't fully complete.
Killarney Municipal District (MD) councillors have repeatedly called for sewerage pipes at Mountain View Estate to be connected to the scheme.
Cllr Moloney says until this developer provided infrastructure (DPI) is connected to the sewerage scheme, the scheme is not completed.
She claims the situation is not fair on locals:
