Councillor says land at Kells Beach could be used for public amenities

Kerry County Council should act decisively to acquire land at Kells Beach for public amenities.

That's according to Kenmare MD councillor Tommy Cahill, who says the site could provide much-needed parking, toilets, and a playground.

The site is currently on the market, and Cllr. Cahill has criticised the council’s view that the purchase isn’t viable.

He claims that private developments on the site could threaten public access.

He plans to raise the issue with the Department of Rural and Community Development and Fáilte Ireland to explore joint funding.
