An independent councillor says local authority electric vehicle chargers are too slow.
Cllr Charlie Farrelly was speaking at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.
He told the chamber that given the fuel crisis, it’s more important than ever that the infrastructure for EVs in the county is up to standard.
Cllr Farrelly outlined that a family from Mayo stayed in Castleisland for the recent National Football League match with Kerry.
He claimed they connected their vehicle overnight at the council EV point in the town, however, the following morning it had barely charged; adding this is unacceptable.
In response the council advised it will assess the situation and revert back to councillors.
