Council urged to provide toilet facilities near popular playground in Kerry town

Kerry County Council has been urged to provide toilet facilities beside the playground in Castleisland.

Cllr Charlie Farrelly raised the matter at the recent meeting of the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.

He stated that the playground, located at Castleview in the town, is an extremely popular facility which draws a huge number of children and guardians.

The independent councillor says there is a need for facilities or a portaloo beside the amenity.

In response the council stated based on available resources and need, such a facility is not required, adding there are public toilets in close proximity.

Cllr Farrelly aired his disappointment with the response, but requested signage be erected advising of the public toilets and that they be opened at weekends.
