Council urged to install flashing speed sign along busy Castleisland school route

Kerry County Council has been urged to install a flashing speed sign along a busy road in Castleisland.

Cllr Charlie Farrelly tabled the motion at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.

The independent councillor requested the driver feedback signage be installed on College Road, near the Boys National School.

He stated it should be included alongside the introduction of the 30km/h speed limit.

The motion was seconded by Fine Gael councillor, Bobby O’Connell.

The council responded advising such signage and road markings could be considered as future traffic calming measure at the location, subject to funding.
