Kerry County Council is to engage with landowners this year along the potential Killarney to Farranfore bypass route.
€3 million has been allocated to progress the long-awaited project this year.
At this month’s council meeting, Independent councillor Maura Healy-Rae asked for a breakdown on how this €3 million will be spent.
Kerry County Council’s reply said this allocation will allow the council to engage with landowners this year, particularly for ground investigation and topographical surveys.
The council added there will be landowner engagement throughout the entire design and environmental phase.
