Alternative options are to be sought for more car parking at Inch.
In response to a motion from Cllr Breandán Fitzgerald, Kerry County Council said extensive discussions took place with a landowner in the area to provide additional car parking adjacent to the beach.
The council said environmental reports were completed but the cost of providing parking at the location proved to be prohibitive.

It is now examining other options for the required parking spaces.
