Kerry County Council says it will assess any proposed site for a bring banks facility in a North Kerry village.
The information was provided in response to a motion from independent councillor Liam Speedy Nolan at the recent Listowel MD meeting.
He urged the council to relocate the recycle bottle bins to Lixnaw village from their existing location.
The local authority responded advising it has been unsuccessful in its attempts to contact the owner of the existing site - to facilitate the removal of the bottle banks.
It added the suitability for a new site is subject to several key requirements, including adequate space and free from overhead lines.
The motion was seconded by Sinn Féin councillor, Tom Barry.
