An engineering consultant is required to progress works at a North Kerry bridge.
That’s according to information provided at the recent Listowel MD meeting in response to a question from Fine Gael councillor Aoife Kennelly.
She sought an update on structural works at Foildarrig Bridge, which is located between Duagh and Kilmorna.
The road has faced several closures due to concerns around the integrity of the bridge, while funding applications to solve erosion there were previously unsuccessful.
The council advised the next phase of the project requires the appointment of an engineering consultant, which needs Department of Transport approval.
It said an update on this will be provided to councillors in due course.
