Repair works for a block of social houses in South Kerry will be completed by the second quarter of the year.
That’s according to Kerry County Council, who were responding to a motion from Fianna Fáil councillor Norma Moriarty.
She tabled a motion at a recent meeting of Kenmare Municipal District for funding to be prioritised for upgrades to units in Cahersiveen.
Cllr Moriarty said corrective insulation and remediation works are badly needed for social homes along Bridge Street in the town.
The council advised that funding has been earmarked for cavity wall upgrades at these properties, which should be completed by the next quarter.
