Almost a fifth of landowners along the South Kerry Greenway don’t feel progress is being made.

That’s according to councillor Norma Moriarty who was speaking at the recent full meeting of Kerry County Council.

She told the chamber that out of 133 landowners, 29 aired their concerns on progress at a meeting in Foilmore.

The Fianna Fáil councillor outlined that representatives for these landowners say if a panel of IFA experts was appointed, there would be a willingness to step back.

Cllr Moriarty urged the council to appoint a case manager, and to engage with the panel of experts to try and overcome the obstacles.

However, she highlighted going to arbitration is something to avoid as it will skyrocket the costs.
