Council exploring options for parking provision at Killarney Blue Pool

Kerry County Council is exploring avenues for the provision of parking at the Blue Pool in Killarney.

The information was provided in response to a motion from Kerry Independent Alliance councillor, John O’Donoghue, at the recent Killarney MD meeting.

He said the blue pool, on the Muckross road, has been transformed in recent times and is now a very popular destination for tourists and locals.

Cllr O’Donoghue added that on busy days it’s impossible to get parking at the location; the motion was seconded by independent councillor, Maura Healy-Rae.

In response the council said an agreement in principle had been reached with the NPWS for proposed parking development; and the project can be considered for ORIS funding in the future.
