Kerry County Council is being asked to review road signage and junctions to ensure they are not covered in overgrowth and sight lines are safe.
Sinn Féin councillor Robert Brosnan tabled a motion calling for this at the recent monthly meeting of the council.
He praised the council for the work it does, but said junctions can become blind due to spurts of growth and called for the council to be proactive.
Cllr Brosnan said staff could check these junctions and signs daily when they are passing various areas.
He stated the danger was that a report may not come in and something will be missed which might lead to a collision.
The council stated critical junctions are included in the general road maintenance programmes, which comprises hedge cutting to maintain sight lines.
