The cost of buying a home in both North and South Kerry jumped by over 20% in a year.
That’s according to the CSO’s latest Residential Property Price Index, published in February.
It shows the average price of a dwelling in the county rose by over 14% in twelve months, to €295,000.
Prices in the V23 (Cahersiveen) area soared by almost 22% to €280,000, while homes with V31 Eircodes (Listowel) rose by 21% to just under €260,000.
The V93 Eircode (Killarney) is the most expensive area in Kerry at €335,000, a 13.5% rise in twelve months.
Meanwhile, homes with a V92 Eircode (Tralee) saw an increase of over 16% to €280,000 at the end of February.
The figures show, the cost of purchasing a dwelling in the P51 area rose by almost 5%, while residential properties in the V94 area ,which includes Abbeyfeale, Athea and Glen, jumped by over 11%.
