Consumer watchdog comments after Kerry retailer pleads guilty to mislabelling products

The chair of the consumer watchdog has commented after a Kerry tourist retailer pleaded guilty to falsely attaching ‘Made in Ireland’ labels to its products.

It follows a number of complaints to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, regarding labels which had been tampered with on jumpers.

The sweatshirts on sale at Quills Woollen Market stores in Killarney and Kenmare were later found to have been made in Pakistan.
