Company reapplies for planning permission to build apartment block in Tralee

A Tralee company has reapplied for planning permission to build an apartment block in the town.

Ned O'Shea Construction LTD has applied to Kerry County Council to construct 30 apartments in Tralee.

Ned O'Shea Construction LTD is seeking planning permission to demolish a derelict single storey structure and to build a four-storey residential development.

This would consist of 20 one-bedroom apartments and 10 two-bedroom apartments, along with all associated site works and services.

This development would be located by the junction of James Street, Canal New Road and Basin View.

In January 2022, Ned O'Shea Construction LTD was granted planning permission by the local authority to build 30 apartments on the same site.

This decision was appealed by a third party to the then An Bórd Pleanála, which upheld the council’s decision; however, the board's decision was then subjected to a judicial review and was quashed by the High Court in April 2024.

Kerry County Council is due to decide on this new application by April 9th.
